Amidst growing controversy, it has been revealed that Ahn Sung-il, the CEO and producer of The Givers, an outsourcing company responsible for group FiftyFifty's song 'Cupid,' is suspected of switching the copyright. Dispatch, an entertainment media outlet, recently released a recorded conversation between Jeon Hong-joon, the CEO of Attract, and Ahn Sung-il, raising suspicions of copyright manipulation.

Previously, Ahn Sung-il claimed that the payment of $9,000 (approximately 120 million Korean won) made by Attract was for the neighboring rights, which belong to the record producer, emphasizing that copyright refers to the rights of the creators. Ahn Sung-il participated in the song 'Cupid' under the name 'Sian.' Although 'Cupid' is composed by three foreign musicians, controversy arose as the names of foreigners were absent in the list of composers registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association, while 'Sian' was included.

The phone conversation released by Dispatch in April heightened suspicion regarding the 'Cupid' copyright. When Jeon Hong-joon asked why the actual names of foreign composers were not registered with the copyright association, Ahn Sung-il replied, "Once everything is registered, it will be transferred back under the publisher's name. It takes three months for the registration." However, even after three months passed, the names of foreign composers involved in 'Cupid' were still not listed as copyright holders.

In response, The Givers countered, stating, "Attract is distorting the facts and obscuring the essential elements. We hope that readers will make wise judgments and see through this misinformation. It is unfortunate that someone who claims to be a 'veteran producer with 30 years of experience' cannot differentiate between neighboring rights and copyright." Furthermore, they emphasized that they possess separate invoices other than the disputed invoice claimed by Attract, indicating a "Music Production Fee," while the invoice provided by The Givers states "Music Intellectual Property Rights Fee." The Givers asserted that the contents of the invoices are distinct, and they will disclose the relevant information in court to protect the privacy of the individuals involved.
