We ran a fishbowl-based live sales coaching

Looking for ideas for remote work team sessions? What about an online fishbowl?

A few days before we cancelled all events, we tried something new. At our last event at Testbirds GmbH we ran a fishbowl-based live sales coaching with CEO Philipp Benkler.

A #fishbowl is a group discussion format where all participants are enabled to participate. For this purpose chairs are placed in a circle leaving a spare seat in the middle so that anyone who wants to give an opinion can do this by taking the seat. Another way to implement it is to negotiate an etiquette - e.g. tapping a shoulder - as a sign to take somebody's place in the panel. It is often used for open space formats and new work.

What sounds so exclusive in real-life is actually by default in #hangouts or other videoconference tools, as every speaker can easily give an opinion, and hierarchy is invisible in a square space list of participants. You just need to negotiate a sign to make it easy for people to interrupt.

It's fun online and offline as well. Kudos to the Testbirds team and their Head of HR, Kathrin Doering for the courage to try
