MALTA AIBC #aibcsummit conference I spoke about my vision of how AI will shape future society and how we can harness the eventual developments that will happen to gain maximum benefit without falling into the numerous potential pitfalls along the way. My keynote centered on the concept that AI in itself is inherently free of danger - any dangerous paths are a result of people acting in a stupid manner and abdicating their responsibility to automated systems without ensuring a means of effective control. After the keynote had an interesting panel discussion together with Yorick Wilks and superbly moderated by Wesley Ellul on how AI needs to be implemented within an ethical framework. We touched upon many subjects including driverless cars, when and how people should be given control or not, the importance of a light touch regulation and how we see AI affecting society in the near future. In the afternoon I had my final presentation on AI and Art. As many know I have a passion for art, firmly believing that innovation and creativity go hand in hand to whether. I explained how we used different techniques to create different types of AI art and a gave a glimpse of our future plans. AI can be a force for good that allows people to achieve unprecedented levels of wealth and success.
