Confluence of #AI and #Blockchain – two buzzwords spoken in the same breath can only lead to a frenzied discussion on its potential, need, applications, negatives, etc. Blockchain is not for everyone. Not every use case merits its implementation. Scale, impact and cost-benefit analysis should guide assessments. While there are several platforms such as Hyperledger, R3, each with its specific use case, they will have to evolve to enable interoperability. Quantity and quality of the data will determine Blockchain and AI’ success – they are only as good as the data. Blockchain helps with data veracity as its immutable, benefitting AI as 70% time is spent on data cleansing. Ultimately, this is an ecosystem play! Data sharing will be a key enabler. #APIs #openbanking are laying the foundation,but orgs and regulators have to think long term for this to happen more broadly. Every technology has dual usage – a drone can help with survey of flood hit regions, but it can also be programmed to shoot somebody. Ultimately, ethics comes into play. These are grey areas that need to be discussed and addressed.
