I had the pleasure to participate in the first Oman Islamic Fintech Forum! This event has an interesting coincidence!! The first photo below was in June 2011 when I was invited to speak on the first ISLAMIC Banking conf. right after the Royal decree allowing ISLAMIC finance in Oman , my keynote at this event was about Transformation of conventional Banking into ISLAMIC ! , it was an honor to speak along known professors and professionals in the field , I did not know at this time on june 2011 that I will participate on launching the first ISLAMIC Bank in Oman (Bank Nizwa in 2013) then speak again here on the 1st Oman Islamic Fintech Forum with amazing audience and speakers Key Takeaways : • Between 2011 till date Oman Islamic Finance with 2 full fledge banks & 6 windows capture 13.3% market share of Assets which represents RO 4.5 BN ! • Oman setup a #blockchain club as a Blockchain service Co. where both collaborate to implement Blockchain with different & unique approach by Training 600 Omani’s on Blockchain ! While collaborating with international providers • Interesting #fintech startups are in operations and collaborating with Banks • Central Bank of Oman driving digital initiatives and encouraging banks • CEO digital agenda & investment panel had great insights
