Bitfinex, a virtual currency exchange announced on its blog that it paid $100 million to Tether's (USDT) bank account.

Bitfinex has been accused of spending $700 million on Tether (USDT) from its losses associated with Panama-based payment services company, Creefto Capital, in addition to mixing customers' and their funds. Bitfinex has not released any details about the loss of the funds.

Earlier this year, a New York state justice minister requested an investigation on Tether and Bitfinex. During the investigation, people found a mix of customer assets and corporate funds by fraudulently using funds from the Stable Coin's collateral to cover losses worth $850 million. The minister also asked to submit a document guaranteeing the verification of the assets as stated in a subpoena issued by the former New York State justice minister, while urging Bitfinex and Tether to immediately stop using Tether's proven assets.
