Singapore-based Exchange BITRUE, Suffered A Total of 5 Billion XRP and ADA from Hacking
The Singapore-based exchange, Bitrue, officially announced that its system's was exploited, which resulted in hacking of 9.3 million riffles (XRP) worth 5 billion won and 2.5 million ADAs.
Bitrue said it would fully reimburse its users for the damage caused by the leak.
Bitrue also said it was already blocking the mixing and transfer of some funds through cooperation with Huobi, Bittrex and ChangeNOW, which are the routes how funds are transferred. According to Bitrue, a hacker took advantage of Bitrue's vulnerability of the review process and stole cryptocurrency by illegally accessing the hot-wallet and hacked approximately 90 users around 2 A.M. on June 27th.
Meanwhile, since the leaked address has been revealed as another exchange, Huobi, Bittrex, and ChangeNOW, who have been together with Bitrue, are paying attention to future responses.
