According official Europolis website, A\after a 14-month-long joint investigation, six suspects were arrested for stealing 30 billion won worth of Bitcoin from a phishing site disguised as an exchange, by police in the Netherlands.

Furthermore, bitcoin theft by the crime group was 4,000 victims in 12 countries, but said the actual number of victims was likely higher.

The crime method was used for virtual currency crimes, revealed that Bitcoin Wallet was acquired through fraudulent exchange website based on personal information such as the user's own wallet address and other personal information entered through the so-called fake site that resembles a real exchange site.

Such phishing sites, which are almost completely identical to Facebook's official ones, were distributed right after the recent announcement of Facebook's virtual currency Libra.

For example, a fake site that is almost completely identical to the official Facebook site'calibra.com' is a very similar except one specific spelling in the URL. The URL "i" in 'calibra.com' was "i" of the letter attached with an accent used in Italian, so it is hard to realize the difference if people don't look closely.

Despite the recent recovery in the cryptocurrency market, users should pay close attention to the rampant use of such fake phishing sites and similar frauds.
