Announcing the Suspension of Trading in 19 tokens in China-based GATE.IO

The China-based Gate.io exchange, which ranks 51st in terms of trading volume at CoinMarketCap announced today it was suspending 19 tokens  in the U.S. market, including Ripple (XRP) and EOS. Following the U.S. conglomerate Bittrex, the crytocurrency industry is facing a growing number of problems in the U.S. securities market.

The 19 tokens  on the U.S. market's suspension list are six of the top 20 players in the current market.

The following 19 items on the transaction suspension list are listed and will be suspended from June 30th. Here are some of the followings:

XRP (Ripple), XEM (Nem), TRX (Tron), EOS, CNYX, XTZ, BTM, NAS, QTUM, NEO, GAS, XMR, BCN, WAVES, DCR, ONT, ONG, THETA, TFUEL

As for the suspension of U.S. user-facing trading services, Gate.io cites "uncertain regulations" as a factor.

Recently, major players in U.S. such as Bittrex and Poloniex also announced a suspension for U.S. users to provide trading pairs for multiple tokens.

Meanwhile, Coinbase, a large exchange that is acquiring NY's cryptocurrency-related operator license "bit-license", resumed its handling of the XRP the previous day. XTZ (Tezos)'s steaming service has also began and is moving in the opposite direction from Gate.io's response.
