The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere vs. Theory of East Asian Peace

During World War 2, Japan started invasion war to entire Asia including East-Asia by asserting political slogan, ‘Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.’ On the other hand, independence fighter Jung-geun Ahn claimed ‘Theory of East Asian Peace’ by saying: “In five thousand years of history, there has been no place where there is this little war among people and countries like this and let Korea, China, and Japan, which prefer peace, operate army together and use common currency like United Nations today.”

   Both claims might seem to have similar purpose, joint operation of East-North Asia, by glance, but critical difference exists. ‘Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere’ is based on philosophy of share which, first, Japan invades entire Asia and civilize people of concerned nation. Philosophy of share, which says “no matter procedure and process, people receive portion of accumulated benefit by reward of success,” provided justification to World War 2.

   On the other hand, theory of East Asian Peace is based on philosophy of enjoy so that entire Korea, China, and Japan can unite to prevent war against the outside world and enjoy economic benefits. Economic philosophy of enjoy is described as the following from the Future of Crypto Economy (2019, Starrits Books): “Win-win economy designed with a positive-sum model so that all members can benefit more than the resources invested through accompanied growth.” The reason why Japan rushed to execute Jung-geun Ahn, who was writing the theory of East Asian peace, is that once the theory of East Asian peace, which was designed under the philosophy of enjoy, the theoretical foundation of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere , which was to be designed as a philosophy of sharing, could be shaken.

   Two theories might seem alike but their outcomes are totally different. The Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere, based on philosophy of share, raised war and destruction, where Theory of East Asian Peace, based on philosophy of enjoy, started to dream about society with continue-able ‘peace’ and ‘alliance.’

   Like this, to construct and develop a society, social philosophical element plays a big part. The reason why most crypto businesses have recently become criticized and ignored by the public is that they designed projects on the line of zero-sum games that follow them by failing to differentiate philosophy from greedy finance, which was the difference between birth of crypto. Let’s remind ourselves that the reason for this failed crypto projects to be on the line of zero-sum game is choice of wrong philosophy.
