Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents an over-hyped domain

Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents an over-hyped domain and yesterday’s workshop on AI made me realize that in some aspects (maybe many) I was a victim of that hype too. Speakers from different UK universities and companies like Cisco, Kapgemini, Fujitsu discussed the impact, challenges and limitations of AI in shaping the future of marketing & sales, research in fundamental sciences, healthcare and public policy making. A professor from Aston Business School brought into attention Explainable AI – Machine Learning topic and showed its importance by providing a real-world business case, whereas a principal consultant in Kapgemini discussed the difficulties they were facing in several companies about bringing employees together to discuss business problems as a preliminary phase of addressing their solution through data science models. He emphasized that Analytics is not only about technology, but also about organizational culture. There is so much to continuously read and understand, but choosing relevant and hype-free resources is definitely of crucial importance. #marketing #data #strategy #machinelearning #analytics #uk #chevening
