China's Ministry of Industrial Information Science Requests Feedback to Standardize Blockchain Data Security.

China's Ministry of Industrial Information Science has asked for feedback on drafting guidelines for standardization of data security in blockchain and other emerging technologies.

Growing big data and accelerating development in China's telecommunications and Internet sectors help China's digital economy. However, developers and governments have stressed the importance of addressing the challenges associated with the emerging complex and serious security risks.

As a result, China's Ministry of Industrial Information Science is calling for stronger construction of a standardized data security guarantee system, asking for feedback on a drafted guideline to ensure a "rational and orderly flow of network data" in the digital economy.

China's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation also emphasizes blockchain in major industry sectors and strongly emphasizes the importance of development security standards in next-generation technologies such as 5G, cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

For standardization of blockchain data security, each ministry is focusing on three key dimensions for security development: application services, system design (including smart contracts and consensus mechanisms), network communication, and encryption. It also focuses on data privacy, securing digital asset storage and network interaction protection.

In addition, five categories were included in the standardization guide draft including security of IoT (Internet of Things), data communication, architecture security, smart contracts and cryptocurrency financial transactions, and analysis of IoT data exchange technology using blockchain.

Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Industrial Information Science has played an important role in urging the development of standards for blockchain. Standardization of blockchain in China began in 2016, and the Chinese Blockchain Technology Industry Development Forum announced 10 international block chain standards by the spring of 2018.
