Government Approved Blockchain Related Agency and Academia Gathers into One

Approved by government, domestic blockchain related agency and academia gathered Korean Federation of Blockchain Organizations (following ‘federation’) is on official launching.

Federation will have its official launching at 14:00 on March 25th in FKI building in Yeouido, and is planning to announce join statement of the government through press conference.

On 20th, Techworld, Secretariat of federation, revealed that though official document, to dispel the government's biased perception of blockchain/cryptocurrency and promote industrial development, they will form a federation, jointly respond to the proposed system for removing industrial degradation and fostering ecosystems.

According to Techworld, the federation has been finalized after four rounds of meeting with active participation and interest from related agencies and organizations since its official proposal was made through last BIIC2018.

Techworld revealed the following through official document: “Currently, even though cryptocurrency ecosystem is a critical element for fostering blockchain industry, government is still maintaining negative basis toward cryptocurrency. Especially, instead of setting no limitation to foreign ICO projects importing, domestic industries are facing reverse discrimination- forbid ICO. Also due to long lasting of such discrimination, blockchain businesses are facing crisis of existence. Hereupon, considering importance of such event, we decided to form the federation from government approved associations and jointly deal with constant basis of government policy.”

Main purposes of the federation are: ▲ elimination of policy and disincentive of blockchain industry development, ▲ speedy proposal of system maintenance for fostering cryptocurrency ecosystem, ▲ management system and system establishment from government for protecting cryptocurrency investors, and ▲ etc.

March 20th, currently, agencies and associations participating the federation are: Korean Blockchain Enterprise Promotion Association, Korean Blockchain Industry Promotion Association, Korean Blockchain Startup Association, Korean IoT Blockchain Technology Research Association, Korea University Cryptocurrency Research Center, Dongguk University Blockchain Research Center, and etc. Techworld is in charge of secretariat and as a legal advisor, head of Koo Tae-eon the law firm Lin & TELOW division is in charge.

On the other hand, the federation decided to continuously cooperate until there are government’s proper measure of legislation and policy about blockchain and cryptocurrency related industries.
